( votes)Loader is a lesser known band from a small city in Norway. They started up in 1985, toured small clubs in the local area, won different national rock contests, and began their journey towards an international record deal.
In 1993 they were discovered by German AVC Inline Music GMBH, signed a contract, and started working on their debut album. Unfortunately AVC went bankrupt shortly after and the whole project failed.
10 years and a lot of struggling later, the band managed to get their hands on a “pre-master tape” of the recordings and they can now finally make their dream come true: January 2005 Mind For A View became a reality!
According to a local newspaper, the band originally didn’t want this record to be reviewed, as the music was made over 10 years ago. But for some reason it ended up in Metal Express’ hands anyway …
Mind For A View has 11 tracks. The first ten are all written and arranged by Loader. The last song is a cover of Kiss’ “Detroit Rock City.” The production of this album is done by the band’s own company, Loader, Inc. Four of the band members used their own money to get this album out, and therefore the arrangement is not as good as the commercial albums you can buy anywhere.
The bands musicians do a fair job, especially impressive are some of the great guitar solos. But, unfortunately, none of the songs really stand out and some of the backing vocals are extremely inappropriate. All in all, this brings back some memories of garage bands from 10 years back.
For sure, getting this album on the market has been a great relief and a dream come true for the band. Hopefully they still have some fans left that will go out and buy this CD!
