WITCHSLAYER is an American Power/Doom Heavy Metal band that formed in the NW Chicago suburbs in 1980. The band consisted of Jeff Allen on Vocals, Craig McMahon on Lead Guitar, Dale Clark on Drums and Sean McAllister (Trouble) on Bass.

In 1983 they created a popular 5-track demo tape of original material. Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records included the song “I Don’t Want To Die” from that demo tape on the Metal Massacre 4 compilation album.

Unfortunately, after 4 years of performing, the group disbanded before a new full length album could be recorded.

Fast forward to 2022, original singer Jeff Allen has reformed the band with veteran Chicago Metal musicians featuring Lead Guitarist Ken Mandat (Damien Thorne), Bassist Mick Lucid (Vicious Circle), and Drummer Gabriel Anthony (Tyrant’s Reign).

The new WITCHSLAYER band retracked and rerecorded 11 original songs that were written and performed by the original band in the early 80s. That album has been released on the Bandcamp platform as of June 27th, 2022. It will be available on most streaming platforms starting August 5th, 2022.

On this Friday’s Guest DJ Show singer Jeff Allen will introduce 10 Heavy Metal classics that was influential to him. After the show we’ll spin a handful of tracks off the new WITCHSLAYER album!

The Friday Guest DJ Hour Show airs at the following times:

15:00 and 21:00 Central Europe
9:00 am and 3:00 pm US East Coast
6:00 am and 12:00 pm US West Coast

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
