When Zep Met Dio
Resurrection Kings was born when guitarist Craig Goldy (Giuffria, Dio) met up with vocalist Chaz West (Jason Bonham Band, West Bound) to write and record some demo material. Goldy brought the finished demos to Frontiers Records where they asked him to assemble a full band to put the music out to the masses. Drummer Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath) and bassist Sean McNabb (Quiet Riot, Dokken) joined the fray and the Resurrection Kings released their debut self-titled album in 2016.
Resurrection Kings have returned for the release of their follow-up album Skygazer. Frontiers jack-of-all-trades Alessandro Del Vecchio steps in for McNabb on bass and also handles production once again. I had the chance to speak with vocalist Chaz West ahead of the album’s release.
