My Refuge is a Power Metal band formed in 2010 in Milan, Italy by guitarist Mauro Paietta.

In October of the same year the group released their first and self-produced EP 3407-Picture of an August Night. In 2012, with a deeply revamped lineup, My Refuge started to create new stuff and to record new material. A few months later, the band released their second self-produced EP Living in Anger. In 2015, the Italian group released their official full-length debut album A Matter of Supremacy and then began with intense live activities – performing at festivals and sharing the stage with artists such as Freedom Call, Elvenking, Furor Gallico, Domine, Drakkar & Primal Fear.

After some lineup changes, in 2020 My Refuge decided to turn into a new dimension by becoming an international project, involving musicians from 14 countries and 4 continents. As a result, the new album The Anger Is Never Over was released earlier this year.

My Refuge’s mastermind Mauro Paietta hosts this week’s show.

Petar is a screener here at Metal Express Radio and makes sure that the new music we play on the radio is pure quality! He's been surrounded by music since birth. Both his parents graduated from music academy and then spent many years teaching in a music-profile high school. Petar himself discovered Rock music when he was a little kid back in the late 80s. His dad had lots of tracks on tapes, including Rainbow (DIO period). Later he and his brother bought some audio cassettes of The Beatles, Queen, Europe, AC/DC, etc. What really made him believe in Rock forever was the Deep Purple's live album Come Hell Or High Water (1994). Nowadays his preferences in Rock/Metal vary from Muddy Waters to Pantera, all the way through any sub genres you might think of.
