It’s been a couple of years since Durham Rockers, Edenthorn’s last album Exist, an album that showed great maturity and promise beyond their years.

With Covid-19 scuppering just about everyone’s plans, dreams and hopes Edenthorn haven’t let their suddenly acquired free time go to waste.

Currently ensconced in the studio working on their next album. Edenthorn have decided to release a couple of teasers to keep the pot bubbling.

“A Matter Of Opinion” is a moody, up-tempo, driving Rocker strong on melody and heavy on power with a guitar riff that evokes The Cult’s “She Sells Sanctuary” with a strong vocal from Kyle Tague. The mid-section breakdown with its tribal drumming and grinding riff really adds a fruity twist to the song.

“1993” is altogether more commercial but in a good way. A bright, sparkly riff sees Edenthorn looking back on those simple times of the early ’90s while a fiery solo from Dylan Gardner takes it up a notch or two while the backing vocals of Faiba Gardner add an impressive sheen to the song.

This is impressive stuff and bodes well for the forthcoming album which should see Edenthorn take a giant leap onward and upward.

When he's not listening to music, he watches Sunderland lose more football (soccer) matches than they win, and occasionally, if he has to, he goes to work as a property lawyer.
