Saints of Death started off as a Motörhead tribute band in Vancouver, Canada. In 2015 the band released their debut EP and hit the touring circuit with their twin bass attack and unique heavy sound. 2020 not only brings new band members, but it also brings Saints of Death’s first full length album Ascend to the Throne [Read our review HERE].
Vocalist Twan Holliday is an imposing, near 7 foot tall beast. His appearance hasn’t just commanded the stage. It landed him feature roles in Hollywood movies, as well performances in the pro wrestling ring.
They say never judge a book by its cover. After speaking with Twan I found out that of all things, he’s also human like the rest of us. He’s had some hard times, and his latest album is Holliday’s way of getting it all off his chest. I went into Ascend to the Throne having one opinion of the album, and after chatting with Twan, a completely different one. Listen for yourself.
