Wheels Of Time is the debut full-length release from German Hard Rock band Re-Machined. Not to be confused with the 2012 Deep Purple tribute album, the band Re-Machined consists of Thomas Ritter, vocals, Horst Pflaumer, guitar, Andreas Glanz, guitar, Bruno Strasser, bass, and Volker Brecher, drums. Re-Machined is very much a NWOBHM sounding group, with clear influences of Judas Priest, Accept, Saxon, and even a dash of Iron Maiden. The record is decent, with some interesting choices. The bass guitar tone is unusual and doesn’t really sit well. It seems like there are timing issues throughout. Not jarring, but subtle.

Some records have an indefinable quality that makes them exceptional. Wheels Of Time has something that, while not obvious, makes it not quite as good as it could be. Talented performers, decent songs, though a bit repetitive, and a pretty good overall mix and master still somehow just fall a bit flat. The lead single, “Heart On Fire” is not bad, but never really takes off. The lead guitar is fine but not exceptional.

Fans of NWOBHM, and fans of Re-Machined’s debut ep will find something to enjoy. Heavy metal fans may want to give it a spin.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
