Rock ‘N’ Roll Heroes is the 13th release from German Rock band Mallet. Formed in 1979, the current line up is a 3 piece, featuring Jürgen Rehberg on guitar and lead vocals, Manfred Dünzl on bass guitar and vocals, and Mario Gerhards on drums and vocals. Mallet is a very busy band, playing upwards of 150 shows a year, sharing the bill with top acts such as Deep Purple, Scorpions, and James Brown, to name a few. Additionally, their rock ballet show Rock Around Barock was a sellout success for 11 years, with performances in Spain and in France.

Rock ‘N’ Roll Heroes is a very straightforward Rock record. Very blues-based, classic rock tones, and mostly party-themed lyrics. Sonically, the record is well-produced, mixed well, and crisp and clear. The songs are hooky and enjoyable. There is no reinvention of the wheel here, just a ballsy rock record with no pretense of being anything but. Songs like “King Kong” and “Sweet Little Mantis” have a very 60s vibe, while the title track, “Rock ‘N”Roll Hero” and “Eighties Coming Back” have a more distinctly 80s flavor.

Fans of Mallet, fans of Classic Rock, Blues Rock, and 60s-80s Rock will most likely find something good on Rock ‘N’ Roll Heroes.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
