Rust is the fifth studio release from Swedish Sleaze Metal/Glam Metal band Crashdïet.  The band has existed in several time periods and with an array of members since 2000.  Rust is the first to feature vocalist Gabriel Keyes, along with guitarist Martin Sweet, bassist Peter London, and drummer Eric Young.  Rust is a good sounding record, with a lot of style and swagger.  The opening track, “Rust”, kicks off with thundering drums and pounding bass, and segues into some heavy riffs, followed by lush vocals and a big, hooky chorus.  The entire record follows suit, with plenty of vocal harmonies and big riffs.

Keyes’s voice is ideally suited to this style of Rock.  The production is big and modern sounding, clear and punchy.  There is a bit of variety within the context.  “Reptile” has a pretty distinct Motorhead influence, while songs like “We Are The Legion”, “Crazy” and “Parasite” have a very radio-friendly Glam Rock bent. “In The Maze” is pure Crashdïet Sleaze Rock.  Overall, Rust is a very solid listen for any Glam Rock, Sleaze Rock, and Hair Metal fan, with a lot to ofter even casual listeners.  Crashdïet fans will definitely want to give ear to this latest effort.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
