Born A Dying Breed is third album from English rockers Stormbringer. Their sound continues to evolve, and now it seems Stormbringer have nailed a sound that they are comfortable with, a band comfortable in their own rock ‘n’ roll skins. Their debut release in 2011 had a more metallic edged hard rock, earning them a main stage appearance at Bloodstock. The addition of vocalist Jim Brown for 2015’s Blood And Rust, there was more of a focus on the hard rock. For Born A Dying Breed, Stormbringer enlisted a second guitarist, Jamie Peters, in addition to founding members Dominic Wallace, Guitar; Darren McCullagh, Bass; and Jon Paul Quantrill, Drums; and have produced a much more cohesive sound than on previous efforts.

Firmly in the Hard Rock genre, with elements of southern rock, the band has found their niche. Track one, “Don’t Trust Me”, launches with rapid fire drums, and hard rock swagger, and the record barely takes a breath in any of the 10 songs. “Let It Begin” has a moment of interlude, and “Dying Breed” has a more laid back, Southern Rock infused sound, but for the most part, Born A Dying Breed is a balls to the wall rocker. Well produced, and well written, and over all a very good sounding record. Fans of Hard Rock, Southern Rock, and Metal should take note.
