Streets Of Chance is the latest solo effort from Melodic Rock veteran Tony Mills.  Mills is best known as the lead vocalist of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Band Shy, and as Tony Harnell’s replacement in TNT, along with a host of bands and solo releases.  Streets Of Chance, Mills 5th solo outing, is a collaborative effort with a host of contributors, most notably Guitarist Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake, Night Ranger), and Guitarist Tommy Denander (Alice Cooper, Paul Stanley).

Melodic Rock is enjoying a resurgence, and the bands producing it seem to fall into 2 camps:  those crafting new, modern-edged Rock that calls to mind the golden age of Hair Metal, and those who craft very much the traditional sound, so that it could easily be taken for an album produced in that era.  Streets Of Chance is firmly the latter.  The record sounds and feels like it came straight out of the ’80s, and would have been a smashing success if it had.

“Battleground” has the epic ’80s love song vibe nailed cold. From a production standpoint, the prominent keyboards, the sound of the drums and bass, and Mills soaring vocals will have you almost convinced you heard this record long ago and loved it.  Only the sharpness of the guitar, particularly some of the leads, gives away the modernity when they anachronistically venture into shredding territory, technically surpassing the era to which the rest of the record hearkens.  Fans of Tony Mills, ’80s Hair Metal and Melodic Rock will definitely enjoy.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
