THE FERRYMEN – The Ferrymen

This new offering from the Frontiers Records team re-invents the term Power Trio. The blending of Ronnie Romero’s soaring vocals, Magnus Karlsson’s brain crushing guitar riffs, and Mike Terrana’s legendary hammer-blow drumming, create a truly powerful debut offering from The Ferrymen. A very modern sounding, over-the-top production serves to highlight Karlsson’s veteran songwriting skill set. After listening to tracks like “Cry Wolf” and “How The Story Ends”, it’s obvious why the name Ronnie Romero is quickly becoming well-known and respected within the Melodic Metal scene.

This is another new project that seems to lack a live presence, an issue which will hopefully be remedied, given the high quality of the songs. The Ferrymen would fit well with other Traditional European Metal acts like Accept, Gamma Ray, and Primal Fear. Fans of these groups will most likely be right at home with this debut release blasting from their speakers.

Despite their live absence, Romero, Karlsson, and Terrana have united to film several music videos, one of which can be seen below. The overall response to this release seems to be positive, and this has the sound of a disc that’ll be in heavy rotation for years to come.
