STARBYNARY – Divina Commedia: Inferno

Divina Commedia:Inferno is the 2nd full length release from Italian Progressive Power Metal outfit Starbynary. While there are some inspired performances and musical gems to be found here, the overall release lacks the focus and cohesiveness needed to walk up out of the sea of mediocre, run-of-the-mill European Prog bands. While good from a technical standpoint, many of the songs are missing the special ingredient that would make the songs memorable and moving. As it is, this will most likely be a stepping stone for Starbynary, who will hopefully be on their way to a more energetic and spontaneous creative process in the years to come.

The video for the deceptively fistraisingly titled single “Gate Of Hell” reflects the overall vacuous emotional content of the album.
