( votes)Parents seem to have overprotective trends. Right now, they’re not blaming song lyrics for their kids’ problems. But if they were, Personal Demons would be on every PTA meeting’s agenda. This album is chock full of references from Hades to Sodom to the inquisition. Lyrics such as “have you down on your knees… and leave you crying and dying alone” really aren’t good for impressionable children. Lucky for you, your heart is made of metal, and you can handle your soul being taken every once in a while.
Former Icarus Witch frontman Matthew Bizilia leads this initial release. His cackling vocals relish the sinister torment that encompasses the album’s whole mood. Some nice dual guitar solos are present, drums are tight, but low bass keeps cadence as sentries of evil march into the fire. This record will appeal to fans of Doom Metal, Black Metal, or anyone who collects parental advisory stickers.
