As a follow up to their 4th full-length release In Charge Of The Scythe, Thunder and Lightning’s latest effort The Ages Will Turn finds them retaining the style and overall sound which brought them success in the past. With lyrical themes taken from a variety of myths and conspiracy theories, The Ages Will Turn is brimming with Traditional Heavy Metal style and attitude.

A somewhat mismatched blend of traditional vocals and modern production techniques sometimes makes the songs come across a bit flat and one dimensional and leaves the listener wondering if it would have been a stronger album had it exercised a more old-school yet elegant approach to the drum and guitar sounds. Despite these, at times distracting, shortcomings there are some great songs and performances to be found here. Fans of Megadeth, Sabaton, Iced Earth and bands that fall on the thrashier side of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal will enjoy this release.

Highlights include “Welcome To The Dark Side”, “Black Eyed Child” and “Hysteria”.
