Tygers Of Pan Tang were originally part of the NWOBHM, with their first release coming with the wave of the incredible back in 1980. Now 36 years later, and more line-up changes along the way than you can shake a stick at, the Tygers are ready to uncage their self-titled 12th studio album in support of their upcoming tour schedule (remember when it used to be the other way around?).

The production of this new release is solid, but the band has opted for a Melodic Metal/Hard Rock soundscape vs. what is typically expected from a band of the NWOBHM era. Nonetheless, the album is solid from start to finish (with the best 2 tracks coming at the beginning … and the end). There’s nothing mind-blowing or earth-shaking within Tygers Of Pan Tang, but this self-titled release is an overall very enjoyable, easy-to-listen-to album worth checking out.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
