( votes)Portugal’s Attick Demons are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a fist-raising, head-banging, speaker-melting ode to all things Metal entitled Let’s Raise Hell. The 9 track album sounds as if Iron Maiden somehow created a brand new Greatest Hits collection of all new songs and then released it under the name Attick Demons.
Vocalist Artur Almeida sounds exactly like a 110% Bruce Dickinson and even the riffs and leads of guitarists Luis Figueira, Nuno Martins and Hugo Monteiro (yes, there are 3 guitarists) sound like Maiden’s best efforts. In short, if you like Iron Maiden at its most rockin’, you’ll love Let’s Raise Hell. Likewise, if you’re not a Maiden fan, this release will sound like just another New Wave of British Heavy Metal album, albeit produced and executed very nicely. The poster-worthy cover art only strengthens the case for Let’s Raise Hell becoming an under-the-radar modern classic. Enjoy with a strong cup of Portuguese tea.
