( votes)Fireborn, the 2nd album from Greek metalers Crimson Fire, will delight fans across nearly all sub-genres of Metal. This full-length release features masterful songwriting with a perfect blend of Metal styles reminiscent of bands like Riot, Megadeth, Triumph, Iron Maiden and Grim Reaper. Vocalist Johnny B’s (John Britsas) delivery is skilled and focused and the entire album features museum-quality performances on every instrument. While the band skirts heavier styles in favor of a more traditional sound, the songs never sound predictable or cliche and there’s still plenty of double bass mayhem and Thrash style riffing to satisfy the hardcore headbangers. The album’s production is tight and consistent and there’s only one ballad. This could be considered a genuine, instant, Traditional Metal classic.
Highlights include the opener, “Take To The Skies” as well as, “Hunter”, “Knightrider” and “Vengeful Spirit”. Fireborn could be just what Crimson Fire needs to break out of the Greek Metal scene and on to the international stage.
