Salem is a British band that made an attempt to get on board with the NWOBHM movement in 1979, but never got off the ground nor landed a break.  They disbanded a few years later, only to reform in 2010, making now their best run as a bona fide band.  Salem’s latest release is entitled Dark Days, and it’s comprised of 11 tracks of Traditional/Melodic Metal … much in the vein of Krokus (blending the styles found in The Blitz with Headhunter).  Overall, the band delivers a solid, easy-to-listen-to performance that should appeal to both Traditional and Melodic Metal fans.

    Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
