Nikki Sixx has made attempts to branch out from his Mötley Crüe identity in recent years, and his Sixx:A.M. band (guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael) has been the most successful of his endeavors. Their latest creation is ominously entitled Prayers For The Damned, released as Volume I of an eventual double album. Sixx:A.M. is a semi-modern Hard Rock band with a “clean” sound, rounded out by James Michael’s vocal style. This is a quality release from start to finish, but the album needs more edge and uniqueness to continually pull in you after a few listens.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
