Hamburg, Germany’s Paragon return with their twelveth album in twenty-two years to bring us more of their trademark teutonic brand of a Power and Speed Metal melange. Hell Beyond Hell shows the band taking the foot off the pedal more often than on their 2012 release Force of Destruction with more than one little side nods to Accept, most prominently in the title track, and even try a few experiments that expand the band’s horizon but never feel awkward like “Heart of The Black” or “Devil’s Waitingroom.” In between speed attacks make sure no one forgets what the guys have come for. And that is a healthy dose of pure metal!

Well, they did, Back in Black became Frank's first Metal album, and since Germany is reasonably close to England, they had some small New Waves Of British Heavy Metal washing up on their shores: Tygers Of Pan Tang, Samson, Gillan, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Sweet Savage, Diamond Head, etc. If he had to pick his favorite styles, Prog and Power Metal would be at the top of the list.
