One can hardly avoid being hit by countless retro rock bands out there to the point where those bands have a hard time standing out of the crowd. The Temperance Movement from England manage with ease, though. The reason is that they go back a little further than most of their competitors and exhibit a taste for, and of, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones in a dry, airy production that leaves room for each instrument to shine. Biggest asset of the band is frontman Phil Campbell who really makes White Bear an outstanding release. Apart from the strange “A Pleasant Peace I Feel” the band delivers nine songs that catapult the listener back to the early days of Hard Rock in the most delightful way.

Well, they did, Back in Black became Frank's first Metal album, and since Germany is reasonably close to England, they had some small New Waves Of British Heavy Metal washing up on their shores: Tygers Of Pan Tang, Samson, Gillan, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Sweet Savage, Diamond Head, etc. If he had to pick his favorite styles, Prog and Power Metal would be at the top of the list.
