( votes)Sure, this album only comes 35 years too late to make a lasting impression in the history books of rock. But it provides a welcome trip down memory lane with ten new songs that reminisce of the early 80s when the New Wave of British Heavy Metal hit an unexpecting, but soon to be enthusiastic audience. The Deep stems from that time but never managed to release an album until now.
Premonition is definitely worth the wait, as powerful rock does never get old. Especially at a time when many of the old bands gain more recognition again, or for some for the first time, The Deep has a real chance of being noticed. They are still deeply rooted in the underground and had to release their debut album independently, but that was true for most of the acts over three decades ago as well. A NWoBHM release, true to form and style, from 2015. What’s not to like?
