Obsession originally formed in the early ‘80s, and is largely known as the first band to launch the career of vocalist Michael Vescera (fronting well-knowns such as Loudness and Yngwie Malmsteen). Obsession disbanded in 1989, only to reform in the earlier part of the turn of the century, and Carnival Of Lies was their initial album, which has been re-engineered and is now being re-released. Traditional Metal enthusiasts who didn’t catch this CD the first go around should be sure to take notice this time, as there are plenty of quality tracks on offer here guaranteed to (re)rock your world!

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
