Mortician is a 4-piece Austrian band, and Shout For Heavy Metal is their 3rd full length release.  The band is more or less a Traditional Metal band, although Shout For Heavy Metal is rough and scruffy, giving it a Thrash feel.  There are absolutely no frills to Mortician’s music … it’s very straight-forward with basic riffs and melodies.  Unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot of talent in the band either … vocalist Daniel Kahn is marginal at best and the rest of the band seems to just sort of “get by” without knocking out anything particularly innovative, noteworthy, or eye-opening.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
