Stud is a Finnish Melodic Hard Rock band that was originally conceived in the mid-‘80s. Out of the chute, Stud originally sang in their native tongue, then later switched to English, but were never able to land a record deal. A few years ago the band reformed and began recording Out Of The Darkness, which they released independently. Musically, this is a high quality Melodic Hard Rock Album: smooth, catchy playing with occasional “edginess”. However, upon hearing Ari Toivanen on vocals, you’ll quickly know why Stud originally delivered their product in Finnish… adequate tonation, but a very noticeable accent.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
