American guitarist Ron Ravi Warrion formed a well-blended veteran band comprised of specific hand-picked talents, including vocalist Mike Vescera (Obsession, ex-Loudness and Malmsteen), guitarist Tim Thomas (Abattoir, ex-Agent Steel and New Eden), bassist Keith Knight (Aska), and drummer Rob Brug (Halloween).

The result is a Power/Epic Metal band in the vein of Virgin Steele with plenty of up-tempo guitar riffs and solos, highlighted by solid rhythm section work provided by Knight and Brug. Awakening The Hydra is Warrion’s debut, and the album is solid overall … the only drawback being Vescera’s elongated high note usage, which at times is over-the-top.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
