Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Tony MacAlpine, and Derek Sherinian have issued a CD/DVD to commemorate their 2012 tour entitled Live In Tokyo. The concert was recorded November 14th, 2012 and features instrumentals from each of the musicians – roughly 100 minutes of music in total. There’s no questioning the “super” nature of this supergroup, and each track is well-performed, however, there are thousands of notes being played as part of this CD/DVD set … which can result in this release being difficult to listen to from start to finish. Live In Tokyo is certainly well-performed, but tires after a few spins.

He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
