Airbourne is 4-piece outfit from Australia, and Black Dog Barking is their 3rd release. The band’s sound is very similar to AC/DC (perhaps a bit more up-tempo) and vocalist Joel O’Keeffe has a delivery that uniquely blends the styles of both Brian Johnson and Bon Scott. Airbourne’s song topics and lyrics aren’t going to change your life, but if you enjoy straightforward, down-and-dirty, no-frills Hard Rock, then this is a band and album that you should get to know. When the day comes for AC/DC to finally hang it up, Airbourne seems well-positioned to claim the Australian Hard Rock throne.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
