The New Black are a German Modern Metal band, and III: Cut Loose is, of course, their 3^rd release. As is the case with many Modern Metal bands, the guitar leads and overall musicianship is secondary to indiscernible rhythms and catchy lyrics, of which vocalist Fludid does a commendable job delivering. With that said, if Modern Metal isn’t your cup of tea, then this album will probably sound like all of the countless other Modern Metal releases over the past 10 years. But, if this is your subgenre of choice, then III: Cut Loose is going to rock your world.

Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
