( votes)Fightcast is the heavy, metallic, Hardcore, Thrash band out of Italy. Even though they have been around only four short years their newest work Breeding A Divinity is being hailed as “the new sensation in modern metallic heaviness.“ This five piece band consisting of two brothers on guitars, Stefano and Alberto Casadei, team up to give you that in-your-face grinding Hardcore yet catchy sound in every song; followed by Francesco Vicini on bass guitar, Marco Biondi on drums, and last but not least the flexible, at times melodic, vocals of Filippo Tellerini. For a group this young to be compared to the likes of Hardcore bands such as Soilwork, In Flames, and Killswitch Engage, has got to be so exciting for these musicians as well as having the feeling you’ve got big shoes to fill with the fans.
It’s been said before in other reviews that the title song needs to be able to carry the album as well as stand alone. Surely “Breeding A Divinity” does just that. They not only save it for the very last song on the track listing but they have incorporated a bevy of special effects from growling to carnival sounds, to dripping water, and overlapping baby laughs. You don’t want to overdo the effects or they get lost somewhere along the way with the listener but this was the perfect song to do that with. “Poison Cage” has that beautiful haunting piano sound that fans love so much and along with great guitar time changes and Filippo’s vocals this song was the obvious choice to begin the album with. Other sure favorite on this record are “Ghosts For You”, “New Shade Behind”, and “Illogical Trip”.
Fans are starting to look to the European realm for this type of music because here in America fans seem to be drowning in the “Emo-ized” culture that has been slowly but methodically saturating this industry. If you are a fan of the Hardcore, Thrash sound and vocals then you need to support the musicians that put out music you like and buy Fightcast. You won’t regret it.
