Swedish hard rock/heavy metal band Seventh Crystal are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated third studio album Seventh Crystal – Entity on Frontiers Music s.r.l.

Hailing from  Gothenburg, the band was formed by Kristian Fyhr in 2019. What started as a solo project by Kristian, quickly grew into a larger endeavor. The band hit the scene hard in 2021 with their debut album Delirium, getting strong reviews, and quickly making their presence known. Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, from soft rock to hard-hitting heavy metal, Seventh Crystal showcase a diverse range of musical expression. Their goal is to be authentic, serving as an inspiration, outlet, and escape for their audience with a sound characterized by huge productions, catchy hooks, and dramatically emotional melodies.

Lyrics

Blinded By The Light

In the end, I fulfilled my loyalty
It wouldn’t be the same for somebody else in the end
I was never gonna let it go
Sure they can try but never change who we are

As the sun’s going up the dawn of a new day
With a reckless intent to set things straight

Never put your doubt on me how does it feel?
Now that you’re…

Blinded by the light ending all the madness the insanity
Now that you’re blinded by the light
Fed up with oppression the anxiety

Set me free!

The lyrics here invoke a feeling of someone who’s realized that their relationship is over, and they can’t change who they are, so they must face each new day with bravery. It also brings a sense that they are bitter, but ready to show that they are still strong in their own self image and convictions. The author is adept at invoking imagery and emotions in the listener, skillfully crafting narratives that people can easily relate to.

The band explains the concept: “We live in an age of social media, AI, filter bubbles and sensational headlines by unknown writers. Disinformation controls the masses and creates multiple truths where the reality remains unknown. The development of technology is largely about solving problems and fulfilling human needs. But can it also lead to the opposite and become its own master with humans as its subjects? A kind of being, an “Entity”.

Production

Seventh Crystal – Entity has a very slick sound, from the super sweet drum mix/performance, to the huge vocal production that takes your breath away. The guitars and keyboards sound huge, at times invoking thoughts of bands like Dream Theater and Sons of Apollo when they change up the timing.

Final Notes

Seventh Crystal – Entity is a super catchy collection of hard rock/heavy metal/prog metal songs, that also fit into the melodic metal genre. Singer Kristian Fyhr has an excellent voice, while guitarists Gustav Linde and Emil Dornerus show that they have the skills to compete with anyone. The overall sound of the album is fantastic, with songs that quickly become earworms by the second listen. The prog metal elements truly help them turn things up a notch. If you haven’t heard Seventh Crystal before, then you need to add them to your must listen list. All in all, Seventh Crystal – Entity deserves a spot in your collection.
