What do you get when a shredding Japanese guitarist joins forces with a powerful, melodic Italian singer? Check out Violet Eternal for your answer. The band came together when the duo decided to create a new Melodic Metal band, blended with Power Metal and a dash of Prog to deliver fast paced rhythms with big, sing a long melodies.

Italian Vocalist Meets Japanese Shredder

Band co-founder and guitarist Jien Takahashi explains:

“I wanted to create the ultimate Melodic Power Metal duo.  After Majustice and other activities, I was hungry for new music. There were a lot of songs at the end of the previous project, so I was looking for a way to shape it. Then I met Ivan Giannini online. I originally knew Ivan from his legendary work with Vision Divine, and the album Angel of Revenge, as well as his other band Derdian. I was completely fascinated by his emotional voice that seemed to burn the skies. When I got in touch with Ivan, we immediately hit it off and decided to make an album together.”

The album also features guests Takao (MinstreliX), Gabriel Guardian (Immortal Guardian), keyboardist YUHKI, drummer Ryuya Inoue, and Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius).

Final Notes

Violet Eternal – Reload The Violet has a lot going for it. The guitar work is magnificent, whether it’s played by Jien Takahashi, Andrea Cappellari, or special guest Gabriel Guardian. The production is top notch, with Dennis Ward (Angra, Helloween) at the helm. Top tracks include “The Echoes of Time” and the high speed shred-fest “The Echoes of Time”. Highly recommended for fans of Stratovarius, Beast In Black, Immortal Guardian, and Angra.
