This Friday’s Guest DJ: WILL THE THRILL

St. Louis’s Will The Thrill is six string hero Willie Aguilar’s band and the trio’s Take It Sleazy is a masterclass in guitar histrionics, seldom seen since the late 80s. A graduate of Hollywood’s famed Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T. to you and me), Aguilar lets loose and impresses with his fretboard antics and his way around a lyrical double entendre.

Will The Thrill consisting of Will The Thrill (Will Aguilar) on guitar, vocals and keyboards; Deth Doug (Doug Mirly) on drums; and, Brian Banger (Brian Lebo) on bass and backing vocals released the album titled Take it Sleazy back on July 28, 2023. This powerhouse album is a homage to a golden era of rock, echoing the unmistakable sounds of icons like Judas Priest, Van Halen, and Mötley Crüe.

Will The Thrill, a dedicated proponent of 80s metal, is a force to be reckoned with in the modern rock scene. His infectious energy and commitment to the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll have made him a favorite among fans. With his signature blend of hard-hitting lyrics, shredding riffs, and audacious attitude, Will The Thrill is set to leave an indelible mark on the metal scene.

This week Willie will share his most influental Hard Rock and Metal track on the Friday Guest DJ Show. As always we’ll play a handful of the band’s own tracks after the show.

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
