BRKN LOVE are a garage / hard rock band that was formed by guitarist and lead vocalist Justin Benlolo. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, his uncle got him into rock ‘n’ roll, where he was introduced to bands such as Kiss, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin. After discovering his true calling for music, he dropped out of school at age 16, and moved to New York City, with hopes of getting a record deal. His dream became a reality when Spinefarm Records signed his band after a New York showcase. Believing there’s still an audience out there for rock music, Benlolo’s goal is to create rock music for the masses that’s not macho and slick, but edgy enough for the punks. BRKN LOVE already have two studio albums under their belt, their 2020 self-titled album and Black Box (2022).
Lana Teramae of Metal Express Radio had a chat with Benlolo about the band’s upcoming album, The Program (2025). They also discussed recording in the Foo Fighters’ studio, the spontaneity of playing live, his cool tattoos, and more!
