This Friday’s Guest DJ: WOLFHEART

This week’s Guest DJ are Finnish frontrunners of icy melodic death metal Wolfheart!

Over the past 14 years, Wolfheart has solidified its place as one of the fastest-rising bands in the international melodic death metal scene. The band has released six highly-acclaimed full-length albums and enchanted fans around the world with its winter-laden tales of battle and triumph. Wolfheart has toured extensively around the world from Scandinavia to Europe, from Asia to Australia, and from North America to South America, performing at major festivals and venues.

On September 6t the band will unleash their latest album, Draconian Darkness, on September 6th, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). The album takes every aspect of the band’s trademark sound of colossal melodies, growling vocals, and driving drum rhythms to searing new levels. Deep, dark, beautiful melodies underpin the powerful, raw energy of the music, giving it both elegance and ferocity. Through these elements, the album becomes the musical embodiment of frigid, dark winter nights that, while terrifying and foreboding, reveal the majestic power and beauty of the natural world.

On the Guest DJ Show this Friday, founder/guitarist/vocalist Tuomas Saukkonen will play his ten most influential tracks as a musician. After his playlist, we’ll play a block of music from that forthcoming album, Draconian Darkness!

The Friday Guest DJ Hour Show airs at the following times:

15:00 and 21:00 Central Europe
9:00 am and 3:00 pm US East Coast
6:00 am and 12:00 pm US West Coast

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
