Doom riffs, dark lyrics, and timeless melodies that echo from the very roots of Heavy Metal. For over 35 years, Ian E. Highhill has followed his melodic hard rock and metal path, remaining true to the style he grew up with in the early 1980s.
Born amidst the cold forests and frozen lakes of Finland, he spent his life clad in leather and spikes, tirelessly spreading the message of the Old Metal-testament through cryptic lyrics, haunting melodies, and doomy riffs. Influenced by the NWOBHM movement and legendary Birmingham rock bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, Ian embarked on a lifelong journey of performing and recording both covers and original material with various bands. Ian signed his first record deal with Olympos Mons in 2004, releasing two albums, Conquistador (2004) and Medievil (2007). After the band’s breakup in 2010, he co-founded Astralion, which has released two albums so far: Astralion (2014) and Outlaw (2016).
In the spring of 2021, Ian released his debut solo album Man In White as a digital release on Spotify and other streaming platforms, garnering over 40,000 streams in the first two months and receiving rave reviews from critics worldwide. Now his new album Gallows is available for your listening pleasure.
