In 1988, Vixen unleashed their self-titled debut album and hit the road like a pack of rock ‘n’ roll wolves on a mission. Metal Express Radio scored a backstage pass to chat with vocalist Janet Gardner just before Vixen stormed the stage as The Scorpions’ support act. Janet spilled the beans on how the band got its groove, their musical muses, their image, and what it was like to be an all-female hard rock act at the time. She even shared thoughts about what would be different on the next Vixen album. And as for those Spinal Tap moments on tour? Oh, you betcha!
