User Review
( votes)The third full length album from New Jersey’s very own Symphonic Metal powerhouse Everdawn, titled Venera is simply awesome from start to finish. The follow-up to 2021’s Cleopatra, the band is back with their trademark stunning guitar work by Richard Fischer, the hauntingly beautiful vocal layering of Alina Gavrilenko, the impressive keyboard work of Boris Zaks, and of course the formidable rhythm section of Alan D’Angelo on bass and Dan Prestup on the drums.
About the Album
Everdawn delivers 62+ minutes of hard hitting songs on Venera, which has everything fans could ever ask for in a Symphonic Metal Album. The compositions are all kept short and concise with the exception of the magnificent opus “Truer Words Ever Spoken” which runs at just under 13 minutes. The songs have a near perfect blend of shredding guitar, huge melodies, anthemic choruses, and ethereal keyboards over a kicking bed of punchy rhythms and riffs.
Final Notes
Everdawn have definitely continued to find their groove, coming back to us with even stronger material with each offering, and Venera is proof. From the epic opener “Cassiopeia” to the rapid fire “Crimson Dusk And Silver Dawn”, Everdawn takes us on a musical journey that keeps the listener interested, and hooked. Fans of Sirenia, Avantasia and Kamelot will be thrilled with Everdawn – Venera. This one is a must for your Symphonic Metal collection, and one of the bright spots of the 2023 releases.
