JUSTIN SMOLIAN (DIRTY HONEY): “The Title Really Fits Our Lifestyle At The Moment, It’s Been Non-Stop”

Dirty Honey still from the interview

Jerry Alperin of Metal Express Radio talked with Dirty Honey’s Justin Smolian and Jaydon Bean about the band’s past and new tour, the new album Can’t Find The Brakes, Jaydon coming in as the new drummer, fans reaction to the new music, and their new bigger stage show.

Los Angeles-based Dirty Honey is still — by choice — unsigned with no major label affiliation. The first single from new album Can’t Find The Brakes, “Won’t Take Me Alive,” is now Top 20 on Mediabase’s Active Rock Radio chart, #22 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart (up from #36), and still headed up on both charts. Set on a backdrop of blistering, down-and-dirty blues-infused rock’n’roll, the new songs are a testament to Dirty Honey’s growth as songwriters, musicians, and arrangers, and is an all-out roller coaster ride through love, passion, loss, regret, loyalty, redemption, inflicting pain and healing wounds. There’s even an unexpected trio of emotional, break-your-heart-into-pieces tracks.
