Oregon born Thrash Metal band Toxic Holocaust made a stop at Salt Lake City’s The Complex on July 8th 2023, and performed an incredible show. After the news that the co-headlining band would not be making the show due to transportation mechanical issues, Toxic Holocaust really stepped up to the plate.
Founder Joel Grind was all business when the band took the stage, ready to bring the hard-hitting music the band is known for. Kicking off the show with “Bitch”, “Silence” and “Gravelord” really set the stage for the night, as it was evident the setlist was going to include music from their entire music vault.
The set continued with “Acid Fuzz”, “I am Disease”, “War is Hell” and “Wild Dogs”. Rob Gray’s fantastic guitar work shredded up the stage and made it look easy. Drummer Tyler Becker was relentless behind the kit, and showed no signs of letting up as the band played “In the Name of Science”, “Nuke the Cross” and “Reaper’s Grave”.
The band was tight, and their in-your-face Metal sounded amazing, finishing out the night with “Death Brings Death”, “666”, “Hell on Earth” and one of my favorites and perfect song to end with “The Lord of the Wasteland.”
It’s not that often Toxic Holocaust hits the road for a tour, so you really don’t want to wait to score some tickets. Tour runs through August 2023.
