The Pacific Northwest area around Portland, Oregon is a hotbed for Heavy Metal, with great bands like Splintered Throne making the scene. Over 10 years as a band, and with a recent lineup change that brought on board vocalist Lisa Mann (White Crone) has made Splintered Throne a force to be reckoned with. This reviewer had the pleasure to catch them for their album release show to support The Greater Good of Man, and what a great show it was.
NWOBHM Reborn
Splintered Throne has that two guitar attack that reminds the listener of Iron Maiden in their heyday, and the powerful vocals of Lisa Mann reinforce that similarity. On stage they had a ton of energy that was contagious, bringing the audience into the fun and excitement they brought. Guitarists Jason “JMo” Moser and Matt Dorado played perfectly in sync, and totally complemented each other’s playing. Every song packed a punch, leaving the crowd wanting more. If you get a chance to catch this up and coming band, take it. You’ll be glad you did.
