( votes)Rizon has just released their fifth album named Prime Time. It has been a long six years for all the fans to get their new dose of some new Rizon Melodic Power Rock and Roll style to their ears. Their last release was Power Plant back in 2016, with Masquerade in 2011, Sudden Life in 2008 and Evolution in 2005.
Rizon started out back in 1997 as a high school band and come from Zurich, Switzerland. They have had some changes with band members over the years, but this album has a big change in the vocals department. Prime Time was recorded with founding members Matthias Götz, vocals and acoustic guitar, Christian Götz, guitars, and Marco Kuderli, keyboards, as well as their new female singer, Anastasia Panagiotou, bass player Maik Kindermann (since 2014), guitarist Reto Hähnel (since 2014), and drummer Tom Lindegger (since 2001).
Prime Time starts out rocking with the songs “Truth Or Consequences” and “Fuckin Rock It.” Then we move on to the song “Time Till Kingdom Come,” which is an acoustic guitar mix with both singers singing in harmony. “Save My Soul,” “High Noon” and “Back To The Game” continue the Melodic Rocking extravaganza. The songs “Through The Fire” and “Heaven’s Gate” make for a great closing to this awesome album.
Prime Time has a good production, courtesy of Jacob Hansen, who has also produced for other artists. Rizon had six years to come out with some new material and they have done a great job on their new release. This album has great vocals by both singers, with some awesome guitar work, followed up with some great sounding bass playing, drums and keyboards. All together, great work by all members of the band, recording this treat for all the fans and listeners.
