For The Honor of Metal
Swedish Heavy Metal act Knights of the Realm released their self-titled debut on November 12, 2021 through Playground Music. Inspired by, and carrying the flag for classic 80s Metal, Knights of the Realm deliver a powerful collection of songs that are sure to please the most critical of music fans. The group are no strangers to the music scene, with members of Tiamat, Eclipse, and Stormen at the helm. I had the chance speak with front man Marcus Von Boisman shortly after the album’s release.
Highlights include
- Discussion of their debut album Knights of the Realm
- How their primary bands influenced the formation and sound of KOTR
- The songwriting process behind their latest singles
- How a “couple of beers” motivated the band
- How the band got their deal with Playground Music
- Was the band’s name taken from the Warhammer video game series
- Will KOTR be able to tour with their other band commitments
- Is their pressure for Swedish vocalists to sing in English to get more ears on their project
- How Marcus earned his nickname “Mean Machine”
- … and much, much more!
