Legendary guitarist George Lynch and bassist Jeff Pilson have teamed up once again for the release of Heavy Hitters [review] through Deadline Records. This time the former Dokken bandmates are putting their own Metal stamp on some of your favorite Pop hits from the last 50 years. Of course this isn’t the first time Lynch and Pilson have teamed up. In 2003 they released Wicked Underground under the Lynch/Pilson moniker, in 2012 they were back at it with T & N for the release of Slave to the Empire, and in 2019 they formed The End Machine and released their self-titled album. George Lynch has also been apart of several other projects over the last couple years including KXM, Sweet/Lynch, and of course the now defunct Lynch Mob. I recently had to speak with George about how full his hands are.
Highlights include:
- Why Lynch Mob was disbanded
- Discussion of new covers album Heavy Hitters
- Lynch’s new band project The Banishment, backed by Indiegoo pledges
- Songs that Lynch didn’t care for
- Memories of the first Lynch/Pilson album
- New Dokken material?
- The status of Sweet/Lynch, Dirty Shirley, and KXM
- … and much, much more!
