The Metal Queen Looks Back on Her Legacy
Doro Pesch is all about the fans. While most of the world is locked down and live shows are far and few between, the legendary Metal Queen has been doing all she can to keep the connection alive. Doro has been very active on social media as of late. She also started a Patreon account to give fans deeper access to her life with lots of bonus perks. In addition, Doro has dug deep into her music catalog to put together one of the most extensive compilations of her career.
On November 13, 2020 Doro Pesch releases Magic Diamonds: Best of Rock, Ballads, & Rare Treasures under her own imprint Rare Diamond Productions (through Metalville Records). 56 songs on 3 CDs. Exclusive to Europe is a special edition box set that includes a Doro inspired perfume (versions for men and women) and a Magic Diamonds tube scarf. There will also be a 4LP colored vinyl version of the set that includes the rarities portion on CD and a poster.
I had the chance to speak with Doro about Magic Diamonds: Best of Rock, Ballads, & Rare Treasures, how it came together, the love she has for her fans, the new album she’s working on, the albums she’s appearing on as a guest, her time touring with the late Eddie Van Halen, and whether she enjoyed performing socially distanced concerts.
Doro’s Backing Band is:
Bas Maas – Guitar
Luca Princiotta – Guitars
Nick Douglas – Bass
Johnny Dee – Drums
