Stoner Kings were formed in 2000 as the brainchild of professional wrestler Michael “StarBuck” Majalahti – a musical throwback to the time of the Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal era, presenting big, chunky riffs, primal drum beats and cavemanish declarations.
Debut album, Brimstone Blues was released in 2001. Second effort, Fuck the World saw light of day in 2006. Over 2007-2008, Stoner Kings went through a complete line-up change, except for vocalist StarBuck, and finally things came to a halt in late 2008 when the band ceased operations. Release of a movie about StarBuck’s pro wrestling career and persona in 2016 induced the band’s return to action as well. That leads to this year’s third album release, titled Alpha Male.
