Ignite The Sky is the second album from Latvian Hard Rock band The Bloody Heels. Band members include vocalist Valts Berzins (Vicky White), guitarist Haralds Avotins (Harry Rivers), bassist Gunars Narbuts (Gunn Everett), and drummer Gustavs Vanags (Gus Hawk). Other featured performers on the record include Erna Daugaviete, “Silhouette” and Dagnis Rozins, saxophone on “Healing Waters”.

Ignite The Sky comes out swinging, with the title track. After a few seconds of low key intro, the track takes off at breakneck speed. Its almost too fast, with the vocalist rushed to get to the ends of phrases at times. Still a very solid track though. “Criminal Masterminds” finds its groove a little better, but still feels a little rushed. Vicky White has an impressive vocal range and timbre, and the band is very solid. The production is polished and modern. The lead guitar is well done for the most part, with only a few instances of overplaying the song. “Farewell To Yesterday” and “Thin Line” are big, radio-friendly hook songs. “Black Swan” is a moody, emotional departure from most of the other material, and a very good listen.

Most of the songs on Ignite The Sky have something to offer. There aren’t any “filler” songs. Fans of Hard Rock, Melodic Rock, AOR, and fans of Bloody Heels’ previous work will want to check this one out.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
