( vote)N.2.O.2.R. is the 2nd album from Germany’s Classic Metal faithfuls License. To be perfectly honest, this is the album that every gang of metalheads makes if they hang out jamming in the garage long enough. That fact is the album’s selling point and also its curse. While License may have come up with these song ideas on their own, they are essentially the same songs that every average 80s Metal act comes up with. Many of these tracks, like “Rise Up”, “Loud ‘n Proud”, and “Make Some Noise” are fun and enjoyable, but there is nothing fresh here.
As harsh as it sounds, this is just not an album that matters in any way, despite its technically correct execution. The production quality is acceptable, and lead singer Jacky Coke’s voice is suitable raspy and guttural, albeit a bit one-dimensional, but the overall product is just not really exceptional in any way.
All that being said, the songs found on N.2.O.2.R would probably more than please a drunken crowd of 50-something singles at the local bar on a Friday night. N.2.O.2.R stands for Never 2 Old 2 Rock, and while that is certainly true, it could be argued that there might simply be better things that you could be doing with your time.
