( vote)In what could easily be the pinnacle of their discography, Enforcer’s new album Zenith is equal parts nostalgia and visionary exploration. This New Wave Of British Heavy Metal mash-up of everything that’s lovable about metal is an irresistible collection of songs that finds the perfect balance between warm familiarity and fresh originality.
From the more Speed Metal leaning tracks like “Searching For You” and “Thunder And Hell” to the grandiose anthems like “The End Of A Universe” and “One Thousand Years Of Darkness”, Zenith is a twisting, exciting treat for metalhead ears.
The standout features of Zenith are shared between the excellent songwriting and arrangements, and the staggering vocal chops of lead singer Olof Wikstrand. He has a young, powerful voice that is a perfect fit for the style. “The End Of A Universe”, in particular, features a sweeping, open, melodic landscape in which Wikstrand exercises his pipes. Any fun-loving metalhead will enjoy this latest effort from Enforcer.
